Fancy Wings

The credit goes to my husband for this shot! You had to stand in a very odd place to get this and Mr Butterfly was NOT wanting to be photographed!! But with patience and time, we got a few up close! There are hardly any such beauties about this time of year so I thought it a neat treat! Enjoy!

It is s treat, indeed!And a lovely capture! I'm alwys at the end of my rope with butterflies in Japan...they are very nervous!

I don't think I've ever seen a butterfly look like this before, the body looks huge. Patience does pay off, great capture!

Good one, but could be a tad sharper. Make sure you don't post anything over 800 p wide, it will be reduced by am3 with a certain loss in quality.

Great shot. I know butterflies are notoriously hard to photograph, being hyperactive as they are, but you got a nice sharp shot. We get little butterflies called golden skippers that are attracted to that type of plant, but they are near impossible to sneak up on.

@Scott Collins: Thank You so much!! Yes it took us a bit of time!! I stood in all kinds of odd places and then my husband got adventurous and got up on a ledge before we FINALLY got Mr. Butterfly!! :) He was not the easiest photo to get but so much fun all the same!!!
